The Coaches · Norwood, Adelaide
We've all walked the road. Some are still walking it.
Every coach in this room has competed. Not studied it from the outside — stood in it, under pressure, with something on the line. That's the standard your athlete gets coached to.
Most gyms sell you a program. What you're actually buying is the person holding the room for an hour, twice a week, for years. So it matters who that is.
What they have in common
Credentials matter. Currency matters more. Several of the coaches here are still competing at senior level right now, which means what they teach was tested this season, not a decade ago. They know what a bad week feels like, what a selection call does to a young athlete's head, and what it takes to get a body through a preseason intact. A certificate doesn't teach that.
They also all chose to coach young athletes specifically. That's a different job to coaching adults, and for none of them is it a fallback.

Who coaches what
Bryan coaches on the Advanced floor and oversees both academies end to end, so what happens in a Foundations session connects deliberately to what happens in an Advanced one. The second is built on the first rather than starting over.
Foundations (8–13) is coached by Pete, Georgia, Summer and Josh.
Advanced (13–18) is coached by Bryan, Scott, Josh and Georgia.
Josh and Georgia work across both. That's part of how an athlete stepping up from Foundations walks into a room where somebody already knows them.
If you want to know exactly who your athlete will have in front of them on a given night, ask. We'd rather tell you than have you find out.
Where their athletes have gone
Athletes coached in this room have gone on to the WNBA, the AFL, the Hockeyroos and the WNBL, and to Olympic medals and NCAA scholarships. They did the work. We were part of the road. See where athletes have gone →
Common questions
Who will actually be coaching my athlete?
One of the coaches on this page. Foundations (8–13) is coached by Pete, Georgia, Summer and Josh; Advanced (13–18) by Bryan, Scott, Josh and Georgia. Bryan also oversees both academies end to end. If you want to know exactly who your athlete will have in front of them on a given night, ask us — we'll tell you straight rather than say 'one of the team'.
Are the coaches still competing themselves?
Several of them are. That's deliberate. A coach who played senior football this season knows what a body actually has to absorb, because theirs did. Credentials matter; currency matters more.
Can I meet the coaches before we commit?
Yes — that's what the trial session is for. Your athlete trains, you watch, and you get a conversation with the person who'd be coaching them. If we're not the right room for them, you'll know quickly and so will we.
Do you coach girls as well as boys?
Yes, and two of our coaches are women who've competed at a high level themselves — Summer in state-league football, Georgia in NCAA and professional tennis. Young female athletes coached by people who've done it is not a small thing.
Who founded The Nth Degree?
Bryan Beinke and Scott Bassett. Bryan played AFL and 100 SANFL games across three premierships and was the inaugural Director of Sport at St Peters College; Scott spent six years as strength and conditioning coach at Norwood Football Club after an AFL career at Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs.
