Spring School Holidays · Ages 8 to 12

Keep the engine warm.

Two weeks off school doesn't have to be two weeks off being an athlete. The Spring Holiday Athlete Academy is six coached sessions across the break for athletes aged 8 to 12, in our room in Norwood. They rest from school, the engine keeps ticking, and they walk into Term 4 ready.

Two weeks of concentrated work.

Three coached sessions a week is more than most young athletes get in term time. Over two weeks that adds up: more repetition, faster progress, and the room to go deeper on speed, strength and movement than one session a week ever allows. Same coaches, same standards as the academy, with the break used properly.

The gap between young athletes doesn't open in season, when everyone's training. It opens in the holidays, when most stop. Six sessions over the break is the difference between coming back for Term 4 ahead and starting over.

What a session looks like

Every session is coached start to finish. They learn to sprint, stop, change direction and land. They build strength through body-weight control, posture and balance long before any real load. They work in a group of athletes their own age who take it seriously, and they leave knowing exactly what they got better at.

No one's getting screamed at or ranked. The room carries a standard, calm and focused, and young athletes rise into it.

Who coaches it

The sessions are run by our academy coaching team, the same coaches who take our Foundations athletes through the term. They know how to hold a room of young athletes and actually coach them, not just supervise them. The program is built by The Nth Degree and delivered to the same standard as every session in our room: calm, focused, athlete-first.

Questions parents ask us

When exactly are the sessions?

Mon 28, Wed 30 September and Fri 2 October, then Tue 6, Wed 7 and Fri 9 October, all at 10:15am. Week two moves to Tuesday because Monday 5 October is the Labour Day public holiday. Book the block and the six sessions are yours.

What if my athlete has never done strength and conditioning?

That's most of the room. At this age it's body-weight control, posture, balance and clean movement, coached progressively. Nobody is loaded before they're ready and nobody is treated like a small adult.

Is it the same as the Foundations Academy?

Same coaches, same room, same standards. The holiday academy is a two-week block of it, so a young athlete who has never trained with us gets the real thing, and one who already does keeps their engine warm over the break.

What do they bring?

Runners, a drink bottle and clothes they can move in. That's it.

What if they miss a session?

The block is six sessions across the two weeks. If one is missed, message Bryan and we'll fit it into another slot within the fortnight where there's room.

Book your athlete's place.

28 Sep to 9 Oct. Six coached sessions. $150 for the block. Places are limited by the size of the room, so book early and pick your sessions when you do.
